About the role
Aviagen Australia at times finds ourselves seeking applicants for Poultry Farm Worker positions across our Southern NSW facilities, we are currently seeking applicants for our Bowral facility. The roles would be on a Permanent Part-Time Basis, providing contracted work for a minimum of 20 hours per week; which due to the current business environment will likely provide 38 hours on average (rostered approx. 5 days out of 7 Monday to Sunday).
The Poultry Farm Worker role will see you working in a controlled livestock environment to carry out the general duties associated with housing and rearing poultry. Duties such as collecting floor eggs, floor walking, grading, reporting, and sanitation duties are a significant part of these roles.
To be considered for these roles you must possess:
- Enthusiasm to learn and a positive attitude to be an effective part of the Aviagen team
- A proven track record of reliability, hard work and willingness to deliver and make a difference for our customers
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks between 10-20kgs
- Ability to perform repetitive bending and lifting
- Own transport and drivers licence
Experience in poultry farming is preferable but not essential as complete on the job training is provided. Importantly we are seeking the right candidates that align with our Values which include team orientated, continuous improvement together with care and respect for employees and our poultry.
The poultry breeding industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards as such applicants must satisfy our Biosecurity requirements including having no contact with other chickens, pet birds, pigs, or intensive livestock operations.
